We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Visitor Experience Team to help bring Happy Rooms to life – creating an unforgettable experience for our visitors.
Happy Rooms is an immersive and interactive experience for families, filled with creativity, fun and connection. Our Visitor Experience Team play a crucial role in making every visit special.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service, good communication skills and teamworking. Our aim is to build a team who genuinely enjoy making others feel welcome and who can bring energy, warmth and positivity to every visitor interaction.
Please note that this is a casual role for the duration of the Happy Rooms project. Shifts will be offered according to the operational needs of the project, and we are looking for enthusiastic team members who can commit to working regularly throughout the run.
The Role
As part of the Happy Rooms team, you’ll help support visitors throughout their experience and duties may include:
- Welcoming visitors and checking tickets
- Providing information and helping audiences navigate the experience
- Supporting visitors in different rooms and spaces
- Helping maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment
- Working on the tuck shop and merchandise desk
- Supporting the overall smooth running of the Happy Rooms experience.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Friendly, approachable and confident
- Great with customers and members of the public
- Reliable and hardworking
- Positive team players
- Enthusiastic about arts and culture
- Previous experience in front of house, hospitality, retail, theatre, cinema, events or visitor attractions is welcome but not essential.
Happy Rooms will be based at Middlesbrough Town Hall. It will be open from Monday 27 July – Sunday 30 August. Usual opening times are Tuesday – Sunday, 9.30am – 5pm (plus Mon 27th July). Flexible shift patterns are available. Paid training/orientation will be required which will take place w/c Mon 20 July.
