Nightfall 2025

Nightfall 2025, Larger in Light

Stellar Creates presented – Nightfall 2025: Larger in Light

Nightfall returned in 2025 with Larger in Light – a celebration of the extraordinary power of light to transform, connect and inspire.

The park was transformed  and every turn  revealed something new: tiny rabbits dancing across a building, towering flowers blooming above heads and light installations that took visitors  into other worlds.

Larger in Light included beautiful artworks, playful projections and engaging performance that filled the night with wonder and warmth. Nightfall was produced by Teesside based Stellar Creates and is made possible thanks to funding and support from Arts Council England, Tees Valley Combined Authority & Middlesbrough Council.

Buckets and Buckets and Buckets of Light by Jack Wimperis

A hundred multi-coloured towers rise and fall along the woodland path, bathing Nightfall visitors in sound and shifting light. Each tower was alive with colour, programmed to ripple up and down in a playful and hypnotic sequence.

Everyday buckets  reimagined and transformed into luminous beacons that invite you to pause, look closer, and lose yourself in the rhythm of light. An unforgettable stop on the 2025 Nightfall trail, it was a place where everyday objects were reborn as something magical, where light gathered in abundance, and where audiences of all ages could step into a world that shines brighter than the ordinary.

Commissioned by Nightfall, Light Night Leeds and Light Night Wigan.

The Tulip Field

The Nightfall journey began under the beautiful, majestic tulips created by Jigantics. The Tulip Field reflected our Larger in Light theme perfectly – each flower glowing softly against the evening chill, inviting you to take a moment and enjoy the beauty of the natural world transformed by light. The Tulips were the first illuminated flowers created by Jigantics in 2007 to commemorate the life and achievements of Body Shop founder, Dame Anita Lucia Roddick DBE – these were her favourite flowers.

Jigantics is led by artist Jig Cochrane alongside a team of dedicated artists, musicians and installers who come together to create and carry light to the darker corners of our world with their beautiful, illuminated floral installations.

We made it a family event with 9 of us and it was even better than 2023 – you’re all amazingly creative and clever. I love how you combine art and the wonders of high tech to celebrate the wonders of nature. The dancing lights over the lake were life affirming
